If a cold and heavy snowfall storm, predicted for this weekend, does occur, the Idyllwild Warming Center located at the American Legion Post 800, 54360 Marian View Dr., could open if its criteria are met. If the center does open, Mountain Disaster Preparedness will alert its network.
Folks needing assistance can also call the Idyllwild Fire Department at 659-2153. The number at the American Legion Post is 659-3517.
In the event it does open, additional volunteers would be needed to staff the center. If interested, and available with adequate transportation to get to the American Legion Post, call Warming Center Activation Committee Secretary Nancy Layton at (909) 225-5127.
