Brendan Steele experienced tough times in two more tournaments during the past two weeks, missing the cuts at the Shell Houston Open and at his first Masters Tournament in Augusta, Ga. His stats in Houston and Augusta once again indicate difficulty with greens in regulation and putting.

Steele is not playing this week. Next week, the Idyllwild native will defend his 2011 Valero Texas Open title at the 2012 edition of that same tournament in San Antonio, Texas. That purse will be $6.2 million with more than $1.1 million going to the winner.
