Animal Rescue Friends of Idyllwild’s speaker, Susan Foster, will speak at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17 at the ARF house on Highway 243 in Idyllwild because of damage a frozen pipe caused at the original location.

World Book Night reaches Idyllwild
Millions of free books were hand-delivered to unsuspecting individuals on Monday, April 23, around the U.S., U.K. and Ireland as part of World Book Night 2012 — “Spreading the love of reading, person to person” — including in Idyllwild. These happy Café Aroma customers were visited by “Book Fairies,” representing INK Book Gathering in Idyllwild, who gave them a few titles from a list of 30. A discussion of World Book Night followed on Tuesday at INK.

Amy Finley, joining the Idyllwild Author Series, entertained her audience Sunday afternoon with stories of Parisian and French cooking. Her 2011 book, “How to Eat a Small Country: A Family’s Pursuit of Happiness One Meal at a Time,” was the topic of her visit to INK.
