Town Hall Sports Coordinator Jeremy Teeguarden reported on Town Hall Adult volleyball for the week of Feb. 4.
The week’s first match, a good one, was between Forest Lumber and Idyllwild Garage. The match went back and forth as each team alternated winning games. Fred Espinoza for the Garage and Dave Parker for Forest Lumber played great for the entire match. The game came down to a fifth game and the Garage came up with a few key points and won the game 16-14. The game scores were 25-13, 22-25, 25-14, 21-25, and 16-14.
On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the Red Kettle and Idyllwild Inn played. The match went all towards the Inn as they took control early and won in three games. Dawn Sonnier played well for the Inn as did Connie Chavez for the Red Kettle. The game scores were 25-22, 25-13 and 25-19.
On Wednesday, the Red Kettle, playing their second consecutive game, went against Idyllwild Chevron. This was a make-up game that was postponed earlier in the year. The Red Kettle came out hot in the first game as Bo Dagnall played well. Chevron regrouped and went on to win the next three games as Mark Collis played great at the net. (19-25, 25-10, 25-17 and 25-19.)
On Thursday, Idyllwild Chevron played their second game of the week. This opponent was Silver Pines Lodge. Matt Boss made some great plays and Silver Pines won the first game. Chevron came back to win game two behind Justin Lehr’s great net play, including big blocks. Silver Pines rebounded though and won the next two games and the match. (25-14, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23.)
Saturday’s games were cancelled due to the weather.
