Although the Idyllwild Fire Protection District Auxiliary still has paperwork to complete before becoming completely official, the group is moving forward with its project planning. The fire department has expressed some of its main concerns and planning has begun on some of these projects.
Priorities include organization and maintenance of the records room, remodeling of the kitchen and general beautification of the station. Some plans for the kitchen have already been drawn up by the departmental staff. The auxiliary is hoping one of its first projects will be to complete these plans and turn them into reality.
Many of the upcoming projects are still being determined. Input from the firefighters, who best know what the station requires, will be key in figuring out which projects are most needed.
The next meeting of the Fire Auxiliary will be 6 p.m., Monday, April 1.
