Between Thursday evening and Friday morning, Idyllwild Water District President Allan Morphett passed away in his home.
Morphett, born March 1944, was 69. He had been an Idyllwild resident for many years. In May 2012, his wife, Maggie, passed away after a long bout with cancer.
In 2003, he was elected to the IWD board and has served as president since December 2005.
