Emily Sena LeGate, 24, of New York, N.Y., passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, in Franklin, Tenn.

Mimi was a graduate of Idyllwild Arts Academy, a classical voice major at CalArts in Valencia and a recent magna cum laude graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She was an amazingly creative and accomplished photographer.

Her immediate surviving family members include her father, Robert “Bob” LeGate of Henderson, Ky.; her mother, Rhonda LeGate of Idyllwild; her brother, Eli LeGate of Aspen, Colo.; her mother’s partner, Rick Bambarger of Idyllwild; and Mimi’s life partner, Riley Curtis, also of New York.

Private services were held Tuesday, June 18, in Henderson, Ky. A candlelight service was held at Audubon Mill Park in Henderson by her friends on Tuesday, June 18, and a memorial service was held Thursday, June 20, in Manhattan at the School of Visual Arts.
