Caltrans has resumed the resurfacing of Highway 74. This project is in Garner Valley and is expected to be completed by the end of November, according to the Joy Sepulveda, Caltrans Public Information Officer.

A $2.1 million contract was awarded to Granite Construction, inc. to do the work, which will include overlaying the roadway with asphalt and repairing designated dig out areas.

This week work occurred along Hwy 74 from Hurkey Creek Bridge to west of Morris Ranch Road and near Palm Desert from Pinyon Drive to south of Cahuilla Way.

Meanwhile re-surfacing of Hwy 74 continues in Hemet, this work area should be from View Lane to Rouse Hill Truck Trail, Sepulveda said in a separate communication.
