Idyllwild Post Office, after receiving a few recent break-ins, has changed its hours again. Full service is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. The will call door is open from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday to Friday. Lobby hours are from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Art Alliance of Idyllwild (AAI) has commissioned artist T.J. Darwin to restore the beauty of the “Center of Idyllwild” mural on The Fort facing Highway 243. On Monday, Oct. 3, Darwin began by washing the grime off. The mural was built in 1992 and, according to AAI representatives, has not had any improvements during that time. Darwin plans to complete his work by Oct. 18.
“Red,” an exploration of expressionist Mark Rothko, will be ISIS’ next 2013 production. John Logan’s 2010 play was a 2010 Tony Award winner for Best Play.
