At the July 15 Board of Supervisor’s meeting, 3rd District Supervisor Jeff Stone requested his colleagues approval to designate several gifts to Hill groups.
“Jeff is very encouraged by what Idyllwilders are accomplishing,” said Verne Lauritzen, Stone’s chief of staff. “He wants to help whenever he can.”
The Idyllwild HELP Center will receive $3,000 for winter heating and utility assistance.
Mountain Disaster Preparedness group will also receive $3,000. These funds will be used for monthly tri-level training classes and exercises that complement the group’s CERT training.
Also the Friends of the San Jacinto Mountain County Parks will receive a $500 gift to help in the restoration of the native Lemon lily.
