Above, Idyllwild Fire Protection District and the U.S. Forest Service responded on Highway 243 Saturday afternoon to a report of the smell of smoke. Once emergency personnel arrived they found a lighter and what appeared to be fireworks in the brush on the side of the road. The scene was quickly taped off and secured until investigators arrived.
