About 5:30 a.m., this morning a 2.9 magnitude earthquake occurred about 4 miles south of Idyllwild. It was originally estimated to be 3.4 magnitude. The quake rumbled for several seconds before endingin a boom. No major damage has been reported. No further information is available.
