Jim Crandall, Palms to Pines Golf Association handicap chair, provided this report about the Friday, Feb. 20, regular monthly golf tournament held at Menifee Lakes Golf Club on the Palms Course.

The early morning fog burned off to reveal a beautiful sunny day with mild temperatures, and the course was in good shape.

Crandall (course handicap 12) shot a gross 77, net 65 to win the tourney by 8 strokes. John Brower (11) came in second with a net 73; Pete Holzman (14) took third with a net 75; and finishing tied for fourth were Pete Capparelli (22) and Lev Sanford (23) with net 76’s to round out the top five.

The closest-to-the-pin winners on the four par 3s were Holzman on number 4, Brower on 7, John LoGiudice on 12 and Capparelli on 15.
