Diana “De” Eskew easily won election to a full-term as director of the Pine Cove Water District. She garnered 176 votes or 46.1 percent of the total. She was the choice of 80 percent of the district’s voters.
“That makes me feel really good,” she said, when told of the results.
Fellow Director Tim Lange, who was appointed in July to fill the term of former board president Mike Esnard’s seat, won the second seat with 162 votes, or 42.4 percent of the votes cast.
“I value the support and I am honored to serve,” he wrote in an email this week.
A distant third was challenger Sharon Kaffen with 44 votes, which was 20 percent of the ballots cast. She offered no comments after the initial results were posted.
Turnout for this election was nearly 45 percent; 220 ballots were cast and registration for PCWD was 506.
While the new terms for Eskew and Lange begin in December, as incumbents they continue to be directors.
