The editor’s “unsavory terms” regarding the Idyllwild Fire Department appear to be spot-on. Becky Clark verifies and re-verifies her facts before printing.
I agree that no fires (thank God) mean that more firefighters are on standby for medical calls. These employees need to be classified as EMTs with lower salaries to match their titles.
We honor our firefighters when danger confronts them, and rightly so, but for huge salaries to be given out for on-call work is unsustainable.
Idyllwild Fire could use some practical people like Becky Clark on its board.
It is so easy to spend someone else’s money. Some oversight is drastically needed.
