CCC worker airlifted from Marian Mountain Trail
According to Mark Barr, Battalion Chief with CalFire, a 20-year-old female working with a CCC crew had back spasms and was airlifted to the Keenwild Helipad from Marian Mountain Trail on Thursday morning. Idyllwild Fire, CalFire Station 23, RSO, Battalion 2 hand crew from CalFire and USFS all responded to the incident.
State grants more funds to combat oak borer
Cal Fire has given the Riverside County Fire Department $766,500 to combat the Gold-spotted oak borer. This is in addition to the $1 million grant last August for removal of dead and dying trees.
