Overheard in the ARF Cattery just this last weekend:
Rey: So, really, why are you and I still here? We are adorable kittens.
Chewy: No kidding. I am so fun and playful. Everyone who meets me says what a character I am. Just think how I would entertain a family.
Rey: OK, so maybe you’re entertaining, but I am so, so loveable. I would cuddle up in my new Mom or Dad’s lap and purr like a well-tuned engine.
Bobbie: OK, you silly, silly kittens. I hope you’re adopted very soon because I need some down time. When I think about it, if someone would find it in her heart to adopt me, I’d have my very own human, home and lap. I just hope whoever falls in love with me doesn’t have other cats. I’m not so fond of them. Or maybe I just want my human all to myself.
Leia: Hey, all you cats in the cattery. Look at me. Since Puddytat resigned the job of ARF office cat so she could go with her forever Mom, I’ve been promoted. Yes, shy little ole me is now the office cat. I’m just waiting here for visitors so I can practice my people-greeting skills. I’m still learning, but I just need more loving humans to help show me they are OK and want to love me.
Heavenly Whiskers: As one of the cats with the most seniority, I think I know how you all feel. It is pretty darned nice here in the ARF Cattery, but we all want our forever homes, even those of us who are shy with strangers. We just need a chance to show we can be wonderful members of a forever family.
