A male climber was rescued from Lily Rock Sunday afternoon, May 22. He had been complaining of chest pain while rock climbing while he was about 500 feet above the surface level.
The patient was able to belay down to solid ground where firefighters assisted him, preparing him to be hoisted by helicopter. Idyllwild Fire, Riverside County Fire and the Riverside County Sheriffs Department responded to the scene.
