U.S. Forest Service firefighters are on scene of a small 5-foot-by-5-foot vegetation fire in the Alvin Meadows area behind Idyllwild Arts. The location is on Forest Service land. The fire possibly was caused by lightning.

At this time, it is actively raining in the area. Non-Forest Service firefighters were dispatched, then held in place and now canceled.

 

UPDATE @ 2:10 p.m.: Fire is burning at the base of an oak tree and is 3-foot-by-3-foot, according to a firefighter on scene.

 

UPDATE @ 3:38 p.m.: Fire is completely contained.

 

UPDATE @ 3:50 p.m.: However, another possible fire is being reported off of Highway 74 1 mile north of Paradise Corners, and 1 mile east of Highway 74 in the thoroughbred ranch area.
