One injury traffic incident occurred over the last week on Hill roads according to Darren Meyer, public information officer for the California Highway Patrol.

According to the responding officer’s report, at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 12, Ty Cabrera, 48, of Homeland, was riding his black 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Highway 243 near the intersection of Highway 74. At the same time, Andrew Hodgson, 51, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was riding his orange KTM motorcycle southbound.

According to the CHP report, as the motorcycles approached each other on a curve, Cabrera crossed the double-yellow line and sideswiped Hodgson’s motorcycle, causing both bikes and riders to go down. Both riders complained of pain to their left ankles and were transported by American Medical Response — Cabrera to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley and Hodgson to San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning.

Weather and road conditions were clear and dry, and no alcohol was found to be a contributing factor.x
