Hill roads were free of serious traffic incidents last week. One minor incident occurred on Monday, April 17.

At 2:40 p.m. on Highway 243, 1 mile south of Old Idyllwild Road, two vehicles sideswiped each other. The investigating California Highway Patrol officer could assign no cause. There were no witnesses and neither driver could account for cause.

A white 2014 International truck towing a utility trailer was driven by Arturo Garcia, 31, of Colton, and had been moving in a northbound direction at the time of the incident. The other vehicle was a 2016 Subaru Forester driven by Michael Kenney, 70, of Idyllwild, and had been moving in a southbound direction. The vehicles contacted each other at the yellow line.

The truck was not damaged. The Subaru had minor damage on the driver’s side. No other vehicles were involved and no one was injured.
