For more than 25 years, the Associates of Idyllwild Arts Foundation has hosted Musicale, an annual fundraiser featuring live classical music in an intimate setting.  Funds raised will support the Idyllwild Arts Academy and Summer Program Scholarship Program.

This year’s concert is being held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3. With a maximum of 50 available seats, early purchase of tickets is recommended.

According to Katie Grigsby, unofficial historian for the Associates, the annual fundraiser was originally spearheaded by Lin Carlson. Grigsby describes Carlson as “a highly energetic member” who focused on planning fundraising events, which included Musicale and the popular Jazz in the Pines.

Always held in a private mountain home, this year’s event will be held in the dome house, otherwise known as “The Ponderosa Concert Hall.” Event hosts are the Levy and Speltz families, who are donating the venue and the musical talent.

Associates President Michael Slocum praised both families for their generous outreach and their equally impressive musical talents. “The Associates are honored to be able to present a Musicale performance as part of our 50th-anniversary celebration. I am also pleased that we can keep the concept of small, intimate performances in the homes of Idyllwild.”

Musicale ticket holders will be treated to the private concert, wine, champagne, light appetizers and dessert.

Cost of tickets is $35 each. To purchase a ticket, visit www.associatesofiaf.org.
