Bob Lewis, recreation director for County Service Area 36 recreation, said that the afterschool program at Town Hall is likely to continue this fall. With the afterschool program at Idyllwild School full with a waiting list, the Town Hall program plays a vital role in the community.
“If the need is there, and enough parents sign up, we’ll continue,” said Lewis. “We’re considering a more structured program for the fall, with more community involvement — talks from community organization representatives, such as law enforcement and the water districts, more arts programs and help with homework.”
The program is five days a week and costs $20 a week. “We’re considering raising it to $25 in the fall,” said Lewis.
