From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, visitors to the mile-high artist community of Idyllwild will experience the magic that happens when galleries, artists and Southern California wineries join forces to raise money for art scholarships and events.

Event organizers for the Art Alliance of Idyllwild’s 20th-annual Art Walk and Wine Tasting are finalizing details to ensure another successful event. Starting at 10 a.m., shuttles will take guests to gallery and art hot spots throughout Idyllwild. More parking is available at Idyllwild School.

With the help of more than 100 volunteers, ticket holders will be able to visit 18 Southern California wineries from 2 to 5 p.m. As of print, more than 75 percent of available tickets have been pre-purchased. Online ticket sales close at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at www.artinidyllwild.org. Current prices are $40 with AAI members receiving a discount. Tickets on the day of the event, if available, will be $50 each.

The event sold out last year and the number of tickets available this year will remain the same. A limited number of paper tickets are available now at select locations around Idyllwild, including the Town Crier Office and the Spruce Moose.

The event draws more than 2,000 visitors annually. Art lovers are invited to start their great art hunt at 10 p.m. by visiting galleries and art hot spots that will be set up around the center of town. The “Art Walk” part of the event is free to the public and maps will be available at 54295 North Circle Drive to start them on their journey.

Wine enthusiasts are invited to enjoy the “Art of Wine” starting at 2 p.m. when 18 Southern California wineries from Temecula, Warner Springs, Escondido, Fallbrook, Julian and Idyllwild share a selection of great wines at art locations around town. The fall weather makes walking from location to location a fun experience, but shuttle also will be available to transport guests between venues.

Participating wineries: Baily Vineyard & Winery, Bel Vino Winery, Cordiano Winery, Danza del Sol Winery, Falkner Winery, Foot Path Winery, Hart Family Winery, Le Serenissima Winery, Maurice Car’rie Winery, Middle Ridge Winery, Miramonte Winery, Monte de Oro Winery & Vineyards, Orfila Vineyards and Winery, Shadow Mountain Vineyards, Volcan Mountain Winery, and Wilson Creek Winery.
