The California Department of Transportation announced that there will be delays on State Route 79 between Temecula and SR 371 next week. Caltrans will deploy multiple crews for various maintenance operations, or “swarm maintenance”, from Tuesday, Dec. 4 through Thursday, Dec. 6.
In order to complete this important work, two-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., each of those days, for traffic on SR 79 between the Temecula Parkway and SR 371. Motorists should expect delays, follow detour signs, add extra time to their commute, plan ahead and consider alternate routes to avoid the work zone.
“Swarm maintenance” involves several operations, such as shoulder grading, drainage work, and landscape work that will be performed simultaneously.
