Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” ARF cats and dogs learned that 2018 is the Year of the Dog.

Little Girl: What a great way to start the new year!

Anabel:  Please share.

Mr. Gray

Little Girl: Both Alvin and Holly went to their forever homes last weekend.  We are so happy for them!

Anabel: And there is more good news, I hear.

Mr. Gray: Yes, Boots has found her forever family.

Little Girl: But did you hear about the two new canine ARF members?

Mr. Gray: Well, I saw that the ARF humans were kind of emotional about them.

Little Girl: Yes. The two dogs lost their guardian when she passed away last week.  Sadly, she had been unable to give them the care they’ve needed, so they are in the process of seeing veterinarians and, eventually, groomers.

Mr. Gray: How sad, but how wonderful it is that ARF is giving them the love and care they need.

Pepper: I heard a very wonderful foster has opened her home to them.

Little Girl: You heard right. So let me tell you about them. One is a senior Springer spaniel named Kate, and the other is a peppy little Chihuahua named Janey. They are both very affectionate and sweet.

Pepper:  Are they good with us felines?

Little Girl: They are! And they are also good with other dogs.

Mr. Gray: I bet once they’ve been given a clean bill of health, they’ll find forever homes in no time at all.

Anabel: While there is a pause in dog adoptions, I hope humans will come in to meet us cats.

Mr. Gray: Let’s all groom ourselves and get ready to put on a good show.

Indigo: I always look good, but I get it. We need to show these humans how great we are.

Little Girl: And how we will be such wonderful companions.

Indigo: Wonderful companions, lap warmers, and entertainers.

Be sure to keep up with the animal antics of “Days of Our Nine Lives” each week. And please stop in to say hello to the entire adoptable cast at the ARF House, 26890 Hwy. 243 on Saturdays 10-4 and Sundays 10-2, or by appointment M-F by calling 951-659-1122.
