“Our charter is wider than is largely understood,” reports Idyllwild Help Center Executive Director Colleen Meyer. “Our upcoming summer Resource Fair is but one example of how we view our role. For this event, we have invited providers from on and off the Hill,” Meyer continued. “Our primary goal is to connect clients to services creating partnerships and we encourage all Idyllwild residents to re-use, re-purpose and recycle. As an added note, the USDA commodity food share on Tuesday of each month, will be at 11 a.m. on June 5 at the Resource Center.”

Resource Fair attendees can speak with Charise Karjala regarding health insurance. Voter registration will be available. A Community Action Partnership representative will explain utility assistance, and Forest Folk will highlight senior services and how to access the Idyllwild Shuttle.

Parents can receive nutritional services education for infants and children. Young Idyllwild will share opportunities for local youth and Soroptimist International of Idyllwild will outline its programs.

Riverside County Office on Aging is bringing its information van and Animal Rescue Friends of Idyllwild will offer advice regarding pet care assistance. The Salvation Army will outline its food and utility assistance programs and the Idyllwild Community Center will detail available recreation programs at Town Hall.

Spirit Mountain Retreat will outline Riverside County Mental Health Department’s outreach services.

The summer Resource Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the Idyllwild Help Center. For transportation assistance, call Idyllwild Shuttle 951-659-2110.
