Years ago, when we took a load to the transfer station, placing items in the large dumpsters was pretty easy. The sides on the dumpsters were 6 feet high and they rested 2 feet below the surface on which we stood, so the top was only 4 feet up from our level.

Today, the dumpsters’ sides rise 8 feet, making the throw 6 feet up. This is ridiculous and becomes more difficult as we get older.

Most Idyllwilders are older, making a trip to the “dump” a real problem. This problem would be easy to solve. If the area where these big boxes rest were dropped 3 feet it would make the trip far less painful. Please.
