California cardholders who receive CalFresh and CalWORKs benefits on Electronic Benefits Transfer cards should be aware of a temporary service outage at the end of June. The service outage will occur statewide.

The EBT system will be out of service from 11 p.m. Saturday, June 23, to 11 p.m. Sunday, June 24, due to an EBT system update. During this 24-hour period, you will not be able to use any EBT benefits (food or cash).

In Riverside County, the Department of Public Social Services Self Sufficiency Division oversees the program. DPSS Assistant Director Sayori Baldwin urged customers to plan ahead for shopping needs and for getting cash. “We recognize how important these benefits are to our customers and want to ensure that we get the word out so that we can minimize the impact to them,” said Baldwin.

The EBT customer services telephone number listed on the back of each EBT card (1-877-328-9677) will not be available during that 24-hour period. Also, you will not be able to use the EBT client website from 10 p.m. Friday, June 22, until 11 p.m., Sunday, June 24.
