At 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, California Highway Patrol, Idyllwild Fire and Southern California Edison responded to a solo-vehicle collision into a power pole on South Circle Drive, 130 feet south of Darryl Road.

The vehicle, a black 2018 Nissan Versa rental car, was driven by Patrick Souba, 59, of Forest Grove, Oregon.

While driving south on South Circle, Souba made an unsafe turning movement and collided with the power pole. The only passenger, Linda Henderson, 53, also of Forest Grove, Oregon, suffered minor injuries to her back and legs and was transported by Idyllwild Fire’s ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center.

The vehicle was towed to Idyllwild Garage. The power pole was examined and found to be unharmed.

At about 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 3. California Highway Patrol and the Idyllwild Fire Department responded to a solo vehicle traffic crash on South Circle Drive near Daryll Street. The car had crashed into a power pole. The cause of the crash was being investigated. Southern California Edison responded to the scene to check the condition of the power pole.
