At the Aug. 16 trial readiness conference for Pam Allen, 66, of Idyllwild, the Riverside County District Attorney’s office requested a continuance of the case. The prosecutor was in the midst of another trial.

The defense agreed. RC Superior Court Judge Mark Johnson rescheduled the hearing for Sept. 28.

In April 2017, Allen was charged with three felonies for the March 31 collision with Julia Romero, 18, also of Idyllwild, on Highway 243. Two of the charges are for driving under the influence and causing great bodily injury. The third charge is hit and run.

She remains released on a $75,000 bail.
