Several months ago, the Art Alliance of Idyllwild’s board wished to support Idyllwild’s local musicians. It came up with the idea to record and press a CD. The musicians will receive a number of free copies they may sell at their gigs.
These CDs also will be for sale through the AAI’s Courtyard Gallery and at its event. The AAI arranged a live recording session from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the back of Town Hall.
As a result of the Cranston Fire, this live-recording session turned into a benefit concert. The AAI started collecting silent auction items with the intent that proceeds from the auction will be distributed to those local residents whose property was destroyed by the fire. Distribution will be either direct or through their legitimate, vetted Go Fund Me sites.
The day will feature live music from up to 13 of Idyllwild’s musicians, food and refreshments, including wine and craft beer. Live art demonstrations, art projects for children and a paint-a-long canvas promise an entertaining day for the entire family.
With up to 50 silent auction items donated by AAI’s artists and Idyllwild’s local businesses, visitors to the event have the opportunity to acquire fine art, gifts and services as a reward for their donations.
AAI is a 501(c)(3) organization. Charitable contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Receipts will be available for donations.
