The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has identified the fatality in the traffic collision Tuesday as Charles Clayton, 81, of Pine Cove. Clayton’s truck hit a tree at the intersection of Highway 243 and Foster Lake Road. He was injured at 12:10 p.m. and died at 12:33 p.m. at the scene. Clayton, who went by the nickname Chuck, was a longtime local building contractor.
