The Town Crier ended its first membership year with 650 Charter Members. People have asked us how many are renewing their memberships. Well, so far, 149 TC reader/supporters already have renewed — that’s 22.9 percent of the Charter Members — in only the seventh week of our second membership year. And we have 30 more brand-new Members since the second year began.
Again, this is critically important to the main objective of the Membership model, which is to establish for prospective new owner(s) that TC readers are serious about keeping a real newspaper serving our Hill community. As long as readers want to keep the Town Crier going, it can be here too us all.
We still have eight local governmental agencies, supported by our tax dollars, that make decisions and/or recommendations as to how additional tax dollars are to be spent — and they are monitored by nobody but the Town Crier. The TC also provides verified updates as to happenings on our Hill, from emergency information to entertainment events.
