Stephen Patrick Medlock, 53, a transient, charged with arson for starting the 2013 Silver Fire, had his Oct. 18 felony settlement conference moved to Nov. 30.
Medlock’s defense counsel, Skip Field, requested the continuance and the prosecution concurred.
Since Medlock’s March 21 preliminary hearing, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office has amended the original formal complaint of two felony charges, one for arson of an inhabited structure and one for nondwelling arson. He is now charged with 28 felony counts. Twenty-three are for arson of a dwelling and the other five are for arson of a structure or forest land.
Judge Mark Johnson has set bail at $500,000. Medlock remains in custody.
