When you advertise your business in the Town Crier, you avoid “empty advertising calories” several ways:
Focus: Your TC ad is read by thousands of Members and other readers, on and off the Hill, who are keen on Idyllwild — not hundreds of thousands of readers who are focused elsewhere, but whom you have to pay to reach anyway.
Durability: Your TC ad is picked up and read for a week because readers don’t toss their old Town Criers until a new one comes out. Daily papers are thrown out the next day. You get a week’s worth of focused durability, for a fraction of the cost.
Community support: Other advertising options do nothing to cover the eight taxpayer-funded public entities that hold regular meetings that affect each and every one of us on the Hill. They don’t provide thorough and accurate info as to what has gone on, is going on and will go on in our community. In short, advertising in Town Crier publications is the way for businesses to support keeping a real newspaper in our community.
Membership support: We routinely ask our Members to shop our Advertisers to produce a real win-win for our Hill. Patronizing our Advertisers is a key way you Members can support the Town Crier — and please tell them you saw their ad in a Town Crier publication: The Town Crier newspaper, the Explore Idyllwild Directory, the Explore Idyllwild Map and the Idyllwild Phone Book.
So, Businesses, please avoid “empty calories” by choosing to advertise with the Town Crier. You’ll do good for your business and good for your community at the same time.
