The Idyllwild Water District directors appear to be within 30 days of naming a successor to former General Manager Jack Hoagland, whose contract expired Dec. 31, 2018, and was not renewed.

The board held its fourth special and closed meeting in the past month, Friday, Dec 28. After that session, President Dr. Charles “Chip” Schelly reported that he and his colleagues hoped to have negotiated contracts with someone as the next general manager and another individual as the first chief operating officer during January.

Schelly did acknowledge that the board had narrowed its choices to one person for each position.
