A bonfire up in Humber Park Trailhead area. Well, it seems that on Christmas day, there were some folk warming their tootsies by the glow of their bonfire in the Humber area.
No matter that this town and surrounding areas have suffered two major fires in the past five years and that a sprinkling of snow does not a drought end.
Most people who come up to visit do not come up with the intent of trashing the community or burning down the forest. But a bonfire up at Humber Park Trailhead. That is incomprehensible.
Gratefulness to the person who reported this incident. I hope it lights a match under the people who are entrusted to monitor this type of activity. Our safety against fire has become a year-round issue.
