County advises voluntary evacuation for Cranston Burn areas in Garner Valley locales
Riverside County has posted a notice warning residents in the Cranston Burn area the coming rain storm may create flooding.
The current National Weather Service forecast for the Idyllwild area is rain through Thursday night. This afternoon, the NWS expects perhaps half an inch of rain and 1 to 2 inches tonight. Tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 14, the forecast says 3 to 4 inches may fall.

CRANSTON BURN AREA Update for Feb. 13 at 1:00 p.m.: SHOULD GO
As of today, February 13, storms are anticipated for the Cranston Fire burn area beginning on Wednesday. The following areas are under a voluntary evacuation warning: Hurkey Creek, Apple Canyon, Lake Hemet and Fleming Ranch. These areas SHOULD GO NOW – this is the safest time to leave. A care and reception center is open at Idyllwild School; 26700 Highway 243, Idyllwild, CA 92549
