Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported that the body of Piotr Hopper-Jasinski, 62, of Idyllwild, who went missing from his South Circle Drive home Monday evening, Feb. 18, was found behind Fairway Market about noon Wednesday, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Ken Reichle.
The department posted a flier on its website and its Facebook page on Tuesday asking for any information in the whereabouts of Hopper who was considered at risk because he suffered from multiple medical conditions.
Hopper-Jasinski was last seen Monday evening at Idyllwild Pizza Company. He wasn’t reported missing until Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff’s officers and bloodhounds made a quick search without luck Tuesday afternoon.
Grid search was set up Wednesday and that’s when the body was found.
Reichle said he doesn’t know the cause of death until the coroner has released that information but he thinks it was exposure to the elements.
The family has been notified.
