Following publication of the Idyllwild Fire Department wages, as reported to the state Controller General, who posts it on the agency’s website at http://publicpay.ca.gov/, several readers requested more detail on the battalion chief’s remuneration, which totaled more than a quarter million dollars in 2017. The wages reported were more than twice what the Fire Chief received.
