A woman and an infant were involved in a traffic collision the night of Monday, April 22.
Caitlin Morones, 26, of Idyllwild, was driving a tan 1960 Studebaker westbound on Darryl Road when she applied the brakes, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Darren Meyer, and claimed the brakes failed.
The Studebaker hit a wall and then struck a tree, coming to rest in a private driveway.
Morones’ passenger was a 3-month-old male, Francisco Fox, also of Idyllwild.
Morones complained of pain and was transported by Idyllwild Fire ambulance to Eisenhower Medical Center. Meyer had no information on the condition of the infant.
The Studebaker was towed to Idyllwild Garage with major damage.
Meyer said a report had not yet been received of another traffic collision that occurred Monday morning on Highway 243 near Marian View Drive.
