On Monday, May 6, the California Highway Patrol San Gorgonio Pass Area announced it is implementing a stronger traffic enforcement campaign. The program began last week and will continue through September 2019.
These efforts will focus on the San Gorgonio Pass Area’s top primary collision factors that are causing injury and fatal collisions within this area.
Federal funding will allow CHP to deploy more officers. CHP also will be working with a community-based task force and creating a public education curriculum to reinforce key traffic safety messages.
CHP and task force members unveiled traffic safety signs for the campaign.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
