Mountain Area Genealogy Group
The Mountain Area Genealogy Group meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the Idyllwild Library.
This is an introductory meeting for those interested in being part of a genealogy group. Bring your family tree and share stories if you have them. The group will discuss what they would like to do and learn in their genealogical searches.

Fireside Book Group
For the month of May, the Fireside Book Group will be reading “Dear Los Angeles” by David Kipen. Kipen, a cultural historian and avid scholar of Los Angeles, has scoured libraries, archives and private estates to assemble a kaleidoscopic view of a truly unique city.
From Spanish missionary expeditions to the Golden Age of Hollywood to the new world of social media, this compilation comes from diary entries and letters throughout a 500 year span, creating a tapestry of discoveries and observations.

Idyllwild Elders and Others
A new club, Idy Elders and Others, has scheduled a first meeting as a community discussion from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the Idyllwild Library.
The purpose is to find ways to live on the Hill when faced with challenges such as old age or illness.
