Mountain Area Genealogy Group

Fireside Book Group
For the month of May, the Fireside Book Group will be reading “Dear Los Angeles” by David Kipen. Kipen, a cultural historian and avid scholar of Los Angeles, has scoured libraries, archives and private estates to assemble a kaleidoscopic view of a truly unique city.
From Spanish missionary expeditions to the Golden Age of Hollywood to the new world of social media, this compilation comes from diary entries and letters throughout a 500 year span, creating a tapestry of discoveries and observations.

Idyllwild Elders and Others
A new club, Idy Elders and Others, has scheduled a first meeting as a community discussion from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the Idyllwild Library.
The purpose is to find ways to live on the Hill when faced with challenges such as old age or illness.
