Editor:
I am responding to the letter written by Dave Hunt entitled “Leave us the way you found us,” wherein he suggested that my efforts to offer an alternative to leaving the Hill to shop for reasonable prices is changing Idyllwild in a bad way.
My whole motivation is to provide a local shopping experience, geared toward helping our locals to shop local and save their hard-earned money at the same time. The time and gas it takes to find a bargain off the Hill is a hardship for many.
Miss Sunshine’s General Store is not a chain or corporate entity, but rather my gift to this village I love so much.

Three things impressed me about the infomercial that will air nationwide  around January. One, it highly promoted our beautiful village, showcasing several local businesses, as well as our…

  • Tax Tips: Tax myths

In an 1939 BBC broadcast, Winston Churchill called Russia “a riddle wrapped in mystery inside an enigma.” This would also be an apt description of our tax code. Our tax laws are written piecemeal year after year by lawmakers unfamiliar with our existing body of tax laws and with little thought toward coherence or consistency….
