A one-vehicle collision last week resulted only in the vehicle being towed.
John Palmer, 26, of Oceanside, was driving a white 2013 Toyota Prius eastbound just east of Palm Canyon Drive on Highway 74 at about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 8. He took a left-hand turn and the vehicle went off the roadway before he had time to react, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Darren Meyer.
The vehicle went down a steep rock embankment about 50 feet over the side.
Palmer complained of pain in his left arm and shoulder but was not transported to a hospital. His vehicle was towed.
A two-car collision on Friday, May 10, did result in a patient being transported to an area hospital.
At 12:35 p.m., David Reidford, 74, of Palm Springs, was driving a white 2014 Nissan Rogue southbound on Highway 243, according to Meyer, when he turned left onto lower Saunders Meadow Road directly into the northbound path of a blue 2004 Jeep Wrangler driven by Luis Felix, 47, of Idyllwild.
American Medical Response transported Reidford to Desert Regional Medical Center for complaint of pain. Felix was not transported.
