Friday, May 17, was Bob Lewis’ last day as director of recreation programs for the Idyllwild Community Center. All current programs and private events will continue as scheduled.

The ICC board will search for a new director. During the interim, Will Steichen, a consultant and Idyllwild resident, has been hired to manage recreation. He has a strong business background and has worked with companies off the Hill on finance and business needs assessment and strategy, according to Stephanie Yost, ICC board member.  He’s also a skateboarder.

The ICC statement said, “With the opening of the new Amphitheater site this summer, as well as the serious impact of the winter weather events on the Town Hall building, ICC is taking this opportunity to newly assess its provision of recreation and cultural services, and is looking forward to working with all interested community members toward an improved and expanded range of programs.”

Janice Lyle, president of the ICC board, thanked Lewis for his service and wished him well going forward.
