The Art Alliance of Idyllwild (AAI) loves to boast about Idyllwild’s local musical talent. These include solo performers, duos and groups who entertain us with a wide range of genres. Eclectic tastes are well served by classical, rock, blues, jazz, country and folk musicians who regale us with original lyrics inspired by their diverse life experiences.
The AAI created the “Call of the Wyld 2018” concert to showcase some of Idyllwild’s talented local musicians. The concert was held on the stage at the back of the Town Hall on Sept. 9, 2018. It was recorded and made into a CD featuring original songs by the 13 performers.
This year, the AAI is staging “Call of the Wyld 2019” on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. Musicians will perform at the new, bigger and better Butterfield Amphitheater. The AAI invites visitors and the Idyllwild community to enjoy this free concert from 3-8 p.m.
Nestled amongst pine trees with a scenic mountain backdrop, the Butterfield Amphitheater provides the perfect venue to rock into the evening, perhaps experiencing a stunning sunset as a bonus.
The line-up includes Cole Withers, Hanky Panky, Juls Phillips, Those Folk (Lawrence & Clare), Lindsay Speed, Ol Man Profitt, Pentagrams & Daisies, The Lift, Timbrewoods and Trick Dog.
Also on offer are nibbles, refreshments (wine, craft beer, soft drinks, water, etc.) and food from the vendor, Dog o Dog, a popular choice at many local events. The Sugar Loaf Café will have some of their mouth-watering pies available for sweet-toothed music lovers.
Invite your family and friends, bring your chairs and don’t miss this exciting opportunity to put on your dancing shoes!
You may purchase a “Call of the Wyld 2018” CD at the Labor Day concert or at the Courtyard Gallery, 54240 Ridgeview Dr.
