On Saturday afternoon, Aug. 24, a rock climber called 911 after becoming injured while climbing Lily Rock in Humber Park. Idyllwild Fire, Cal Fire and the U.S. Forest Service responded to rescue the male climber. According to Cal Fire, the patient had moderate injuries after falling approximately 20 to 30 feet. Reaching the injured hiker from the ground was not possible, so emergency responders requested help from Cal Fire Helicopter 301.
