On Sunday, Sept. 29, my wife and I had the pleasure of attending the 2019 Idyllwild Renaissance Faire held at Camp Emerson. Due to our job situation, we do not have the privilege of being able to reside at the top of the hill full-time. However, we visit whenever the occasion arises. And what an occasion!
Multiple musical groups with decades of training were singing with people in costumes ranging from simple to elaborate walking past, handmade goods both durable and soft, weaponry deployed in melee between fully armored knights, the Queen of Castile and her retinue sweeping through the camp earning bows and vows of service from passersby.
